///////////////////////////MAGGIE KEMPINSKA
belongs to the new generation of artists that works with mixed media and moves elegantly across traditional genres, materials and isms.
Maggie has 26 years of experience in creative positions such as visual merchandiser, interior consultant, stylist, copywriter, graphic designer, art director and PR- and brand manager. Throughout her extensive and multifaceted career art was a dear companion, and always played an important role in her creative approach.
Art was fostered at various art schools in Denmark, including the art school “Nutcracker” in which Maggie received intensive training by wonder boy of contemporary art Tal R. Art Schools with artists as Pierre Beskow, Peter Land, Paul K Schäfer, Eva Koch was also her playground. A variety of different styles were explored, tested and discarded. Today she primarily works with mixed media, acrylic paintings and paper cuts. Maggie’s portfolio ranges from simple, rigorous graphics to color packed, chaotic collages.
Characteristic for her expression is the subtle and the playful, the vague and odd beauty of undefined elements, that grows on the beholder. She works mostly in the borderline between the abstract and semi-figurative, which gives her work a naive and compelling expression. She typically works with materials such as: acrylic, ink, textiles, cardboard, trash and artful, decorative elements that she finds on her way or create on her computer.
